Tug & Barge Transportation – Mozambique

Project details: ISS Palumbo has been awarded a “Contract of Affreightment” for transportation of  large quantities of aggregate materials in Mozambique. For this purpose the tug Crest Gold 1 and the barge Palma 2401 were selected and implemented to comply with the requirements of the Client, having to load and delivery the aggregate in remote areas. The deck of the barge has been reinforced with special concrete panels and the ramp adjusted to comply with loading and unloading quays. Particularly the unloading location required to provide that the barge was able to load the maximum possible quantity of cargo in respect of a very low draft.
